Australia is too large to see in one trip, so plan around one or two corners of it rather than a lap. Sydney is the usual arrival, the Great Barrier Reef and the Red Centre each justify a domestic flight, and Tasmania sits an hour away by air when you want cool weather and a shorter horizon.
