Utzon's shells read as one white object from the ferry and as a million glazed tiles up close, so do both. Approach on foot around Circular Quay, then walk the podium steps down to the waterline on the eastern side, where almost nobody goes. The better ticket is to anything on the programme: the building needs an audience in it.
