Overview
Spain travels best by train and by region. The north runs green and Atlantic, from Galicia through Asturias to the Basque coast, with León and Burgos on the pilgrim road between them. The centre holds Madrid and the Castilian cathedral cities, the Mediterranean side carries Barcelona and Valencia, and Andalusia in the south keeps the Moorish palaces and the longest evenings.
