Ride the cable car up Namsan for N Seoul Tower, the city’s default viewpoint and still its best: arrive before sunset and the sprawl turns gold, stay twenty minutes and it reboots as a grid of neon. The mountain-top plaza below the tower is half the experience and free.
Weekend evenings queue for the cable car both ways; go at a weekday dusk, or walk one leg on the Namsan path. The outdoor terraces deliver most of the view without the observatory line.
The cable car base is a short walk uphill from Myeongdong station, and buses run to the summit plaza. Pair it with Myeongdong’s street-food streets at the bottom of the hill.
