Mission Hill Family Estate
The most architectural winery in the country, and the one almost every first trip to the Okanagan ends at. It stands on a bluff on the west bank behind a free-standing bell tower, with a keystone arch framing the lake, a barrel cellar cut into the rock beneath the courtyard and an outdoor amphitheatre that carries concerts through the summer. The estate's open-air Terrace Restaurant runs here in season, and Travel + Leisure once ranked it among the top five winery restaurants anywhere. Tastings and tours are booked ahead rather than walked into, and it is about twenty minutes from downtown once you are over the bridge.
